01 / The regional surface

The matrix at regional scale.

Every tier-1 town below has been hand-enriched with neighbouring towns, landmarks, business districts, property quirks and seasonal factors. That data is what keeps the programmatic copy useful instead of generic.

02 / Why this region

Local context is the matrix's edge.

A landing page that says 'we serve Birmingham' ranks for nothing. A landing page that knows Edgbaston from Erdington, knows the Avon floods at Stratford, knows that Worcester has period-conservation rules that change which roofers can quote, ranks because it reads like it was written by someone who actually lives here.

That is the whole job. The engine turns operator knowledge into a thousand pages without losing the operator's voice. The hand-enriched location data is how it stays anchored.

  • West Midlands

    4 tier-1 towns

The metropolitan core. Dense competition, dense demand, dense council jurisdictions. Birmingham alone has 1.1 million residents and around 70 distinct suburbs that each search differently. Coventry and Solihull bring another 470,000 between them. We treat each metro suburb as its own landing-page surface rather than one homepage trying to cover a city.

  • Warwickshire

    14 tier-1 towns

Our home county and the most thoroughly mapped on the matrix. Stratford-upon-Avon sits in the centre of a triangle running north to Coventry, east to Rugby and south to Banbury. Twelve to thirty-minute drive radii from Stratford cover an unusually high number of mid-sized service-business catchments, which is why Warwickshire dominates the tier-1 town list.

  • Worcestershire

    7 tier-1 towns

Worcester city plus a ring of historic market towns: Bromsgrove, Droitwich Spa, Kidderminster, Malvern, Evesham, Redditch. A high concentration of period and listed property, which biases demand toward heritage-aware tradespeople. The matrix carries that bias into the on-page copy.

  • Staffordshire

    2 tier-1 towns

Two tier-1 towns for Phase 1: Tamworth and Lichfield. Both sit on the north-eastern edge of the Birmingham commuter belt, both have growing new-build estates alongside Georgian and Victorian cores. Expansion into wider Staffordshire follows Phase 1 launch.

03 / The town list

Every tier-1 town in the matrix.

Sorted by population within each county. Individual town-and-service landing pages roll out as the engine ships them.

05 / How the matrix gets built

The four-step regional rollout.

  1. 01

Enrich every town with local context

Population, neighbouring towns, landmarks, business districts, property quirks, seasonal factors. Hand-curated, not pulled from Wikipedia at runtime.

  2. 02

Layer the service taxonomy on top

Sixteen service slugs per town, eight trades for matrix variants. The engine assembles the L0, L1, L2 and L3 layers from the same source data.

  3. 03

    Generate, QA, ship

Claude Sonnet writes the long-form pages with the system prompt cached for cost. A separate QA pass on Haiku catches duplicates, AI clichés, US spellings and unfilled templates before deploy.

  4. 04

Refresh based on Search Console data

Stuck pages get flagged after the indexing wait. The engine regenerates with sharper local detail. The matrix gets stronger as it ages.

06 / FAQ

Common questions about the regional matrix.

Are you actually based in the West Midlands?

Yes. Kelso Creative is based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. The team lives in the catchment and works with operators who do too. The matrix copy is written with that proximity in mind, not pulled off a national template.

Why one regional page instead of ten separate ones?

The regional surface is for authority and proof. The ranking surface lives one layer down at the town × service level. A handful of hand-crafted regional and county hubs feed E-E-A-T signals to the wider programmatic matrix. Ten near-duplicate region stubs would dilute the signal, not strengthen it.

My town is not on the list. Do you still cover it?

Yes. The 27 towns above are the Phase-1 enriched set with full local-context metadata. Wider UK coverage follows the same matrix model. We add your towns to the brief when you sign up so your landing pages match your actual service area.

What about the suburbs inside Birmingham and Coventry?

Each metro town carries a sub-area map. Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Worcester, Leamington Spa, Warwick and Nuneaton already have a mapped suburb list, ten or so per town. The matrix can address those at the L3 layer when a client needs to outrank inside one borough or postcode rather than across a whole city.

Do you work with national businesses or only regional ones?

Both. The matrix is town-shaped by default, which is what local service businesses need, but the same engine produces national landing-page coverage when the client serves the whole UK. The West Midlands surface here is our local proof, not the limit of the work.
